What are DRGs Empty What are DRGs

DRG system is used for inpatient coding. DRG stands for diagnostic related groups. each inpatient case is assigned a single DRG out of 750+ DRGs. Payment is based on the assigned DRG's relative weight multiplied by the base rate for the hospital.

DRG are based on the primary diagnosis report when the patient steps in to the hospital.
