What is medical coding

Medical coding is coversion of medical coding records data into specialized codes that are developed by WHO and AMA. It helps in billing for the insurance companies and medicolegal purposes

simply speaking in medical coding, the hospital medical records scanned and then there are codes for all the diseases and treatment given to the patient. You cannot imagine but there are codes for every disease, injection, medicine, surgery, and all possible services provided to the patient.

Do you think medical coding is used in all hospital in every country or only in developped contries? And medical coder-what do they do? More detailed infos, please!

Medical coding initially started in United States and is used in all healthcare facilities in US. Medical coding is in used in canada, uk, australia, uae, and all developed countries. Medical coding is recently implemented in middle eastern countries..

I currently live in Viet Nam, a developping country. I'm not sure, but I think medical coding is not used in hospital in this country in spite of many its advantages. Maybe there're some requirements, for exampes: technique or money...

Actually we do not have medical coding in India, but we get work from US. there are outsourcing companies who bring work to india. Vietnam is also a developing country, so you may also have some companies having medical coding there

Why is it that you simply don’t have a medical coding in India? Does it mean that it only prefers offers within the country that's developing?

Insurance billing claims use medical coding for refund. Medical coding provides important information used in clinical research.
